beat tapes: Dokmok and Ruelz Rekka

A double dose of beat tapes for your ears. I know these links have been floating around in the Cbox for a few days, but I finally got a chance to listen. Decent stuff from both camps, I'll say the Ruelz Rekka is the better of the two, but the Dokmok is definitely worth a listen. Nice ride music. Enjoy.

Crut - Michiru (Monday) 12"

Is Monday again already? Yes it is... and funny you should ask, because today is another in-Crut-able day and I present to you the second Crut days of the week 12", this one entitled "Michiru (Monday)." The original version is an upbeat breakbeat track with a disco whistle and Indian tinged flute, while the B-Side "Mirachu, I Hardly Knew Ye" is a dark drum 'n bass remix by DHEX. Good stuff.

This week's Supper comes from the table of Chuck Allen. He hooked us up with an IDOL King classic! This is the joint I've been lookin' for! This was one of my favorite tapes back in the day and listening to it again after all those years, it's just as nice as I remember. Great concepts with dope production and timeless samples: "Send Me Forget Me Nots" to Zapp to "I'll Bet You," to name a few. Classic! Enjoy this one, I know I am.
